The bunkie has been started beautifully, but it needs to be finished. The flooring material came with it.
We haven’t decided how to finish the walls yet. What do you think we should put on them? The flooring is a medium toned wood-look laminate. That should be good for wet feet. The ceiling and lower walls have natural, light toned wood.
I think that to put another wood tone on the walls would be too much. We may have to remove what’s already on the walls. I think the ceiling is beautiful!
We went to Home Depot to see what materials are available to finish the inside walls. Here is a material designed for exterior siding. It’s already painted, but we could paint it whatever colour we want. It might be nice. We’re thinking we would paint it white. That will be no surprise to those of you who know me!
Yesterday, Charlie took measurements to make a ladder to go up to the loft of the bunkie. I had been thinking that wide horizontal boards would look good on the inside walls. However, after another look, I’m thinking that with the boards on the floor and ceiling already, that might be too much on the horizontal. Vertical siding would accentuate the height of the walls in the area without the loft.
Here is the view from the bunkie loft windows…
